Upgrade, Operation and Maintenance of Sunway South Quay Water Treatment Plant (Capacity: 8,400m3/day)

Sunway South Quay Water Treatment Plant is a water treatment facility owned by Sunway. The plant treats water from the South Quay lake to be used for all Sunway’s commercial buildings within Sunway City. The plant is using a hybrid of ultrafiltration (UF) as the pre-treatment process and reverse osmosis (RO) processes to meet the quality standards of potable drinking water.

AIRB’s scope of work for this project is to upgrade the existing ultrafiltration (UF) system by using new UF membrane unit from Australia and set up an operation team to operate the plant for 10 years contract.

The project has been completed and started operation since 1st July 2020. The plant operates at around 4,000 m3/day on normal operation day and maximum production capacity is able to produce up to 8,400m3/day during peak period especially during water disruption period in Selangor. The treated water quality complies with Ministry of Health (MOH) drinking water  standards.
