Southern Water Corporation Sdn Bhd (SWC) is very privileged to host a visit by YB Tan Kok Hong (YB Tan), the Executive Council member responsible for Johor’s International Trade & Industry, Energy, Water & Communications and Environment. He is also the State Assemblyman for Bekok.
SWC is undertaking rehabilitation works on the fourteen (14) water treatment plants under its management to ensure continual efficiencies and effectiveness in the operations of the water treatment plants.
The primary objective of YB Tan visit to the Parit Raja 4 water treatment plant is to have a “first-hand” observation of the refurbishment works presently undertaken by SWC at the water treatment plant. It is also an opportunity for YB Tan to understand in greater depth on the operations of a water treatment facility and hence be able to assist in resolving operational issues faced by water operators.
YB Tan arrived at the Parit Raja 4 water treatment plant at 9.45 am and was received by En Razali Abd Aziz, Director, Aliran Ihsan Resources Bhd (AIR Bhd); holding company of SWC. YB Tan was introduced to the employees of the water treatment plant including the management and working level executives and staff.
YB Tan was later joined by En Mohd Norazam Dato’ Osman, a director of UPEN (Unit Perancang Ekonomi Negeri) and General Manager of Syarikat Air Johor Sdn Bhd (SAJSB).
The esteemed visitors were led to the meeting room and a briefing was given on the water treatment plant operations by En Razali ably assisted by En Ibrahim Sulaiman, Assistant General Manager of Southern Water Engineering Sdn Bhd.
Upon completion of the briefing, the visitors were taken around the plant to view the operations of the water treatment facilities.
After the tour, the esteemed visitors were invited to join the staff of the water treatment plant for lunch at the “filter gallery” section of the plant.
The VIPs left the Parit Raja 4 water treatment plant at approximately 2.00 pm.
SWC is indeed honoured and privileged to host this visit and expressed the hope that the VIPs will leave the Parit Raja 4 water treatment plant with a deeper and better understanding on the management of the water services in the State of Johor Darul Takzim.
